PRACTICE NURSES AND HEALTH CARE ASSISTANTS
The nursing staff are available
from: 8.00am to 12 noon and 3.30 to 5.45pm daily. Please contact Reception to
make an appointment.
Practice nurses are available
for minor injuries, dressings and injections. They can also advise on travel immunisations,
diet, smoking cessation, lifestyle and carry out health checks. They hold regular
clinics in diabetes, asthma, chronic heart disease, family planning and cervical
cytology.
SECRETARIES
They deal with a variety
of administrative tasks, ranging from hospital admissions to laboratory results,
as well as arranging medicals in liaison with a variety of consultants and health
institutions.
RECEPTIONISTS
Receptionists are your first
point of contact with the practice. They are happy to offer advice, arrange appointments,
deal with enquiries and generally facilitate your visit. Please do not hesitate
to seek their guidance if you are uncertain about anything.
OTHER STAFF
Health Visitors- give support to families
with pre-school children. Provide well baby clinics, pre-toddler groups and parent craft classes.
Midwives- have responsibility for antenatal care
and for mother and baby after they leave hospital. In conjunction with health
visitors they assist with parent craft classes.
Community Nurses-
provide care and treatment for patients in their own homes when required.
Community Psychiatric- nurse will provide a counselling service where appropriate.
