SERVICES Services available at Dr C H West and Partners include: Child Health, Family Planning, Ante/Postnatal, Diebetic Monitoring, Podiatry, Counselling and Minor Operations. Services provided at this surgery are non-discriminatory-that is irrespective of race, religion, age, sex; disability or medical condition. NON-NHS EXAMINATIONS The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services. TRAVEL IMMUNISATION/VACCINATIONS Please make an appointment at least six weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception. FLU VACCINATION An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in September for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility. YELLOW FEVER VACCINATIONS The surgery is an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. Annual health checks are available for patients over the age of 75 and medication reviews are available from your GP once a year, or earlier if needed. If you are aged 16-74 and have not seen a doctor in the last three years, you are invited to attend for a health check. NHS DIRECT A 24 hour health advice line is available via NHS Direct on 0845 4647. We are registered under the Data Protection Act and are required to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. The information we hold in your medical records and on the computer, will only be used for your health care. The information may also be used for audit purposes in order to monitor quality standards but anonymity is assured. Physical/Verbal abuse to any member of staff will not be tolerated, in accordance with the NHS Zero Tolerance Policy. The policy of the surgery is to remove from the list any patient who is physically or verbally abusive towards any member of staff or another patient. |
